‘Rx’ @ QUIRKY FOX

I’m excited to have two new works featuring in Quirky Fox Gallery’s R x exhibition opening tomorrow, July 24th at 5.30pm (NZST).

Quirky Fox Gallery, run by the extraordinary Vicki Fox, is renowned for dealing in the surreal and ephemeral through a curated lineup of Australasian and international artists.

Rx features the work of Nicole Evans, Jennifer Allnut, Lix North, Jane Siddall, Rossella Paolini, Ginny Page, Larysa Bernhardt, Clairy Laurence, Edith Le Beau, Alexandra Lukaschewitz, Lorena Kloosterboer and more.

‘Vanitas Mente’, or ‘Vanity’s Guise’ translated in context from Latin, explores the protective power of a carefully crafted façade. She honours the complex interplay between the armour of outer appearance and the cultivation of inner strength.

New Models for the Bellwether Series

A little glimpse into my process – the making of one of the tiny canary respirator helmets that feature in my Bellwether series of paintings. I almost consider my self a maker who paints, rather than the other way around. Yet it’s the paintings that end up on gallery walls, while my little studio grows ever-more a secret cave of wondrous curios.
