Miniature Exhibition @ Quirky Fox Gallery

This innovative little show not only has a great lineup for all budgets, but an admirable ethos of reducing framing industry waste by reusing/recycling frame moulding off-cuts from the gallery’s frame shop to frame each miniature work in the show, putting the waste to good use rather than sending it to landfill.

I have two miniature works, each measuring 130mm square, joining in this fantastic initiative at Quirky Fox Gallery in Hawera, Taranaki, New Zealand. Both have sold prior to opening, but there are plenty of other extraordinary works to choose from. View the catalogue here: https://www.quirkyfox.co.nz/collections/exhibit-it

The show opens Nov 8 2023 and marks my first exhibition in Aotearoa in 16 years!

Aspectus Rarus ‘Aspectus Rarus’ translates to ‘uncommon gaze' or 'rare sight’ from Latin. She is an ode to those who seek uncommon souls, pull at the threads of evasive thoughts, and find neglected beauty in the illusive ordinary.
Oraculums Razor A pun on Occam’s Razor, with the Latin ‘oraculum' meaning ‘oracle’. Under siege by external visual noise, it takes a singular sort of focus to align our lenses to see simple truths amongst the detritus.
